Summary:

The Accounting Manager is responsible to manage general and job cost accounting and the accurate and timely distribution of internal and external financial statements. Lead and manage the annual audit, tax reporting, budgets, and forecasts. Maintain corporate insurance, compensation and benefits programs. Ensure the effective use of Accounting Software, provide leadership to staff performing accounting and human resource functions and ensure that the company is in compliance with regulatory requirements.

A successful candidate will have:

• Manage the accuracy and productivity of the day-to-day accounting operations including A/P, A/R, Job Cost, G/L, Cash, Payroll and Benefits Administration
• Prepare, reconcile and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules
• Oversee accurate and timely preparation of reports required by regulatory agencies, unions, insurance companies and management
• Coordinate with outside auditors on annual audit and tax reporting
• Manage insurance and benefit programs and coordinate with insurance agents and insurance companies.
• Maintain and analyze budgets and evaluate cash requirements
• Lead and direct a staff of three
• Administer computerized Timberline accounting software and troubleshoot data discrepancies
• Recommend procedures related to financial and business practices
• Maintain internal accounting controls
• Coordinate Human Resource activities related to compensation, recruitment, performance management and safety
• Participate in a variety of special projects
