safety > training...

[safety program] [incentives] [awards]

Our Safety Program begins with an initial orientation of new employees.  This includes a review of our safety handbook, which covers training in hazard communication, fall protection, personal protective equipment, proper lifting, housekeeping, use of ladders and scaffolds, and many other safety requirements.  Employees are tested to ensure their understanding and sign a statement confirming their commitment to work in accordance with our Safety rules. safety_ladder.jpg

Bonland requires that all jobsites conduct a minimum of one Toolbox Talk per month.  On many sites, these talks are done weekly.  The talks primarily concentrate on safety topics pertinent to our industry, but also include safety away from the workplace.

Safety huddles are also a common practice.  These huddles involve a discussion of the activities for the day and a review of the necessary safety precautions to ensure that there are no injuries.

Training is also conducted at our Foremen meetings.  This is an opportunity to supply formal training, but also allows the foremen to exchange ideas on ways to ensure a safe environment and work toward achieving our Company goal of Zero Accidents.

We recognize that training is a great way to supply our employees with additional information and at the same time continually reinforces our commitment to safety.
